Ukemi: The Art of Falling, Adapted to Parkour (parkour.com)

Amos Rendao of APEX Movement Boulder gave a workshop on Ukemi at the 2011 National Parkour Summit in Seattle, Washington. Ukemi is a martial arts term which means “taking a fall,” and is used in teaching how to handle being thrown. Rendao adapts these techniques to parkour and demonstrates how to fall in various parkour situations without injury. Check out the video below and keep yourself that much safer!

We Run These Streets – Freerunning Documentary (parkour.com)

Mark Allard has created a 20-minute documentary aimed at “demystifying” parkour to the public. We Run These Streets focuses on four Haverhill traceurs. Allard has previously shot a music video, however this was the first documentary he has attempted. Of filming parkour he says, “Because they move so fast and in such an agile way I had to create a new way of shooting to be able to capture it in an artistic way.” Read the full article on Haverhill Echo!
